It's two years now since resigning from Wirecard . I still cannot forget that day. The day re-org was announced and I resigned on the same day without having any other job at hand, not knowing how things would unfold. Looking back now, I think that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Yes, even though I am a BI and data professional and take decisions based on data, there are some of these decisions that are based on intuitions and I understand how important it is to listen to those intuitions.

Wrote a short poem about Dandi March for my son (7 years old). The famous Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi From Sabarmati Ashram to coastal village Dandi Less than hundred marchers at the start Joined by thousands who did their part Walked miles daytime, open field resting at night Was Poor man's battle of right against might Made salt, broke salt law of British Raj Protested, we need Purna Swaraj Shook foundations of British Empire United people, now freedom they could aspire Triggered nationwide Civil Disobedience movement And strive continued for India's own Government

The kind of work that you do, and if you are good at it, irrespective of whether you would like to do it or not, will naturally attract more similar work. For example, if you are plumber who happens to do a bit of electrical work, and people find that you are good at electrical work, irrespective of whether you like to do electrical work or not, more electrical work will find you. Nothing wrong or right about it, it is what it is. What you do will determine what you will do more.

In procurement, specifically in Public Procurement, there are 3 categories of procurement; Goods, Services and Works. I tried to find if there was one word which can replace goods, services and works but couldn't get any. Therefore decided to use GSW as the word, where GSW stands for Goods, Services and Works. So, instead of asking what was the goods, or services or works procured, I can use what was the GSW procured? And in column header instead of writing Goods_Services_Works I used procured_GSW.

One day, eyes, mouth, and nose argued with each other that they were the most important organ. Nose said, "I am most important because I'm the one who breaths, if I don't breath just for a few minutes then we will die. And I am useful for smelling too". Mouth and eyes laughed out loud and then Mouth said, "I am most important because I'm the one who lets water and food inside, if I don't take in water or eat food for a few days then we will not have any energy and we will die. And I am useful for talking too. And more importantly when nose cannot breath I can be used for breathing too". Eyes said, "you both are wrong, I am most important because only I can see, if I don't see then you mouth may end up eating poison too and we will die, and nose you could be damaged first if we fall without seeing where we are going." After silently and carefully listening to the conversation, ears said, "do you guys realize that you have tota...

I don't believe in God

I don't believe in God, I don't see a reason to believe in God. My question is, why should I believe when I know God? People usually believe in things they don't know. Which we know, there is absolutely no question of belief. For example, I know I am in Munich today, this is not a belief, this is a fact that no one can dispute. On the other hand, I don't know where I will be in 1 month, in that case I believe I will be in Munich or I believe I will be in Bangalore if flights are open, only when there is doubt, there is belief, when there is no doubt, there is no belief. Before you jump into conclusions, let me explain what I mean by God. If you refer to God as some super human living somewhere in so-called heaven, no, that's not the God I know. If you refer to God as this invisible force, this invisible power, that's here and now like gravity, this phenomena that keeps driving me (possibly you too) to a certain direction, that's the God I know. I know not ...
You should wear a mask your entire life

Person A : You should wear a mask your entire life from here on. Person B : What? No way. Why? A: Because of Corona or COVID-19, it's now mandatory to wear mask in most places, so you should wear a mask your entire life. B: I understand that it is mandatory now and it is a medical necessity to wear a mask now, but why the hell should I wear a mask my entire life? A: If you don't wear a mask, you will not be considered a human. And if your children don't wear a mask throughout their life, they will be beaten up or they will be considered less human and they will not belong to the community. B: Thanks, and you will be considered a stupid human, simply ridiculous. A : So, when something that is relevant for current situation is forced on you for all situations, you feel that I am stupid and that it is ridiculous. But when you do it today, it's the right thing to do. Just look at your clothes and look at yourself. Are you choosing your clothes based on ...

Raised a question today about "Rate this translation" feature in LinkedIn. One of my ex-colleagues commented on a post, as the post was not in English, I used the "See translation" option, and then there was this "Rate this translation" option available to me. My question is, what use is this feature? I will see the translation only because I don't know the original language. And those who know the language wouldn't care to see the translation. So why ask me to rate the translation? How would I be in a position to rate the translation when I don't know the language? My post is here . The original post that I didn't understand is here .
Gender Equality

I find that the people who speak about gender rights, especially about equal rights for women, they themselves don't realize that they too have an unconscious bias and they are actually biased. For example, look at the names of the 4 well known women in the US; Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Indra Nooyi and Melinda Gates. Side note: Do you know their original / maiden surname? I'm sure all of them have spoken about gender equality and equal rights for women. Do they even realize that they haven't considered their own equal rights when they have changed their names after marriage? Why do they have to change their name after marriage? You know what you are doing by changing your name? You are losing your own identity. People may justify this practice with various reasons but none of those can be valid if those reasons are applied only on one gender. Has any man changed his name after marriage and taken the surname of the woman? Is there such a practice? Why to change the n...

As the bubble becomes bigger and bigger, it becomes more and more visible, what we don't realize is, the bigger the bubble gets, the closer it is getting to the bursting point. 25th of June 2020, an unforgettable day, an extremely sad day, lots of learnings for life on how not to do business - Wirecard collapses into insolvency - - https://www.ft.com/content/ac949729-6167-4b6c-ac3f-f0aa71aca193
That last hug

After that last hug on the 9th of June 2019 when I departed from Bangalore airport to Munich after celebrating his 70th birth anniversary, the next time I saw him directly was on the 18th of June 2019 in the cold storage, where his dead body was kept, he was no more. My dad left us on the 18th of June 2019 but his way of life will never leave me. He never said "I love you" to me or to my mom or to my brother or anyone, he simply loved the way he knew. He never taught us or preached us anything, he simply did what he believed was right, he simply worked and worked. I learnt a lot by observing him, even to this day, everyday I am trying to decode why he did some of the things he did. I didn't have a clue back then why that last hug at the airport was such a big one. Miss you dad. To anyone who is reading this, I don't like to be prescriptive, but as someone who has experienced it and would like to help others, I would like to share and request just two points. Please d...
The pace is just not matching

The pace at which the world, especially technology, is changing is a pace which my pace of learning is unable to match. It's changing rapidly, every day, something new is coming up, and there's the dilemma, if I spend a lot of time learning new things, when do I get to implement what I learn? If I keep implementing what I learnt when do I get to learn new stuff? The pace is just not matching.
